I hope you are all keeping well during these turbulent times.
I am writing to update you with our COVID-19 pandemic response plan. The PM announced yesterday that we are on COVID-19 Alert Level 3 and from Wednesday 25 March, we will be on Alert Level 4. Looking carefully at the documentation from the Ministry of Health, we need to cancel all non- essential procedures to contain the pandemic “stamp it out” phase. Our hospitals are also in the process or doing this. Our staff will be contacting patients booked from Monday 30 March 2020, and will be deferring procedures booked.
Our virtual clinic service will continue as we have the infrastructure to continue to provide specialist consultation services. We launched this on Monday 23 March. You will still have the opportunity to have a non-face-to-face consultation and if necessary we will send your prescription to the pharmacy electronically and arrange other investigations if they are urgent too. Payments can be made online and if you have insurance that can be processed without you having to be here.
I want to reassure you that you will still have good access to specialist care, however we will not be able to examine you physically.
We will still be here to help and we wish you and your family well during this difficult time.
We may be able to help with urgent procedures on a case by case basis and your referrals from your GP will be triaged rapidly. We will still operate our urgent advice email service for GPs.
