Jo grew up in Auckland. After spending time at University in both Otago and Queensland, she returned to Auckland for specialist physician training. She then spent 12 months in Manchester,UK for her final year of specialist training before returning to a permanent appointment at Middlemore Hospital.
She is a past chair of the NZ Nephrology Training Committee and current member of the Strategic Group of Health NZ’s National Renal Clinical Network. She has been involved in clinical research and has been a named investigator on 2 Health Research Council funded trials. She also held a Senior Clinical Lecturer role at the University of Auckland for 5 years.
Jo prides herself on patient centred care and making sure that all medical plans are fully explained and discussed.
